Additional information on donations the Gift of Travel Foundation has been able to make:

The Gift of Travel Foundation purchased a back back and school supplies for a student in Cambodia.  His name is Chan Pheap and he is 12 years old. He studies in the local primary school in grade 3. He is the third child of four. His father is Los Chan, who works in construction. His mother is Koy Saly. She works as a seller of small items when she can, and a wood-collector when she cannot. Pheap’s eldest brother, Chan Progh, is 20 years old and works in construction with his father. Pheap also has one older brother and one younger sister who still attend school.

The Gift of Travel Foundation also purchased chickens to help a family become self sufficient.  The family that received our chickens is headed by Mr. Vat Srouch and Mrs. No Po, neither of whom is pictured. The woman in the picture is Mrs. Lai. Mrs. Lai is 66 years old and looks after Mr. Srouch and Mrs. Po’s five children. The oldest children – Choy, an 11-year old boy, and Gna, a 9-year old girl – both go to school. The younger children are too young to attend school and stay at home with their grandmother. Srouch and Po both work as farmers to support their children.

While, the chickens are mostly self-sufficient, they do require a watchful eye and care to ensure that they grow quickly and produce healthy chicks. Having these chickens at home will allow Mrs. Lai an additional means to help support her children and grandchildren.
